Slade never said what species of Theropod it is. And Giganotosaurs were not that much bigger than Rexes. T Rex may not have the biggest Theropod record anymore, but they do hold the record for most powerful Theropods. Pound for pound, a Rex would kill a Gig or a Spinosaurus.

This T-Rex is nothing compared the cyborg on from the first game. Aside being able breath fire and shoot eye lasers, that one looked tougher because there weren't any convenient hiding places you could where it couldn't hit you.
