Eric Clapton Mark Knopfler - Crossroads (Live at Crossroads)

Uploaded by: Dappidu
Video Description:
The best version of this Robert J. song. I like it for the "Marki" solo and Eric's voice. It's taken from the vhs "Live a the Crossroads: 25th anniversary tour with special guests like Mark Knopfler (from Dire Straits) and Elton John(1988,Tokyo).
It's one of the best concert ever of Slowhand. Every song is played with an incredible passion and all the solo's are great. If you can, see all the clips of this concert, first of all "I shot the sheriff"(Here on you tube look for "kahtia") and "Layla" (search on my account)versions: simply amazing. As I say everytime: ENJOY!

Clapton owns this song. He's done so many different versions, all unique and fresh. He's not afraid to experiment and change things up. He's a musical legend in his own time.

seriously this version is far too slow. Clapton looks like he's just relaxing, it's too slow for him. If you hear Cream's original recording of this is very fast and Clapton really puts his skills to the test. in this one he plays just as well as ever, but it's a bit relaxed.

there is no one size fits all in musical tastes lordmoe9,it is slower than the original and easier to play ,without weeks of jammin, these guys fly in and find a tempo that suits the crowd and their styles, your opinion is as relevant as any one elses, some of these dude idolize players, this group doesnt need defence from anyone, pros i sez

The drummer does a nice job of understated but strong back beat. You can have 10 drummers equal in skill but only one will have the understated funky back beat like thi s guy. Nice.

I agree, shredders don't have 1/10th of the soul that Clapton has, but I just prefer this song when it is fast.
