Its not a matter of ... ( 4 months ago by WeVlog)
Its not a matter of what I think. There are many things that I personally wish weren't so. But, being a believer in Jesus' promise that the gates of Hell will not prevail over His Church, I must accept every teaching of the Catholic Church even if it doesn't seem very logical in my opinion.
In regards to infertile couples being married, with God anything is possible. There are several accounts in the Bible where infertile couples have conceived, thanks to God. Only God knows His plans for us.

I agree with what you said, yeah there are unexplained things, and alot of things in the Bible do not make much sense to the average human mind, but as a believer we have to follow it while being sure that God knows best for mankind. I also believe that there is a reason for every rule, and I do share your belief on gay marriage, however I believe there is more about it than just being unable to reproduce.

This video implies that WeVlog's reasoning on this issue has been informed by an honest understanding of nature
the animal kingdom ("an anus is an anus"), but his responses reveal that he refuses to expand his reasoning on this topic beyond the biases
assertions of his own and those of current Catholicism. For WeVlog, the only moral inalienable right a gay man in the USA has is the surrender of his personal understanding (for the proper use of his own sex organs) to the Pope's U.S. minions.

I was making a video response to someone who was attacking Christianity. And yes, my views are very much CAtholic because I am a Catholic... just like your views are based on your beliefs. Whose to say yours are more valid than mine, nor mine valid than yours. I have just as much right to voice my feelings as you, no?
I keep reading ... ( 3 months ago by twilightjedi2)
I keep reading these comparisons between homosexual couples and infertile couples who do not produce children. The logic is this: infertile married couples are engaging in sexual acts which are still open to the possibility of creating new life. The comparison is flawed because the latter are infertile through no fault of their own - many factors could be involved - and their bodies complement mutually for that effort.

Finally, somebody else who sees the difference between the two scenarios. THANK YOU!!!!

You're welcome. I'll keep an eye out for any further arguments to "dissolve." Keep up the good work - you've actually inspired me to take the Faith seriously again, pray, go to Confession, etc.

That's excellent, twilightjedi2!! I will definitely keep you in my prayers as you continue to grow in the faith. Please pray for me and Kate as well!

This isn't about what people do in their own homes. This is about protecting the dignity of marriage.

Actually, yes I do. As a voter, I get to have my say when I go into the voting booth and cast my ballot. Of course my vote is no more important than anybody elses, but it still counts.
And don't roll your eyes at me.

Im almost sorry that I watched this video. Ive watched some of your other videos and as a roman catholic (lapest) they made me think perhaps it was time that I revisited my faith and reattend church, after many many years. However, such videos as this remind me why I felt the need to withdraw from the Catholic mass. Theres a kindness on the surface but when pressed, there seems to be an anger at anything other then doctrine. Im not wishing to be negitive, Im just disappointed.

(1). This was a video response to somebody who was ripping apart Christianity and calling Jesus a "loser" --- so yes, I was very angry when making this video. However, I will defend the faith even if people don't like it.
(2). Abandoning your faith because you didn't like my video is ridiculous. It's a lame excuse to not come back to the Church. If God's calling you, you have that decision to make. Passing the blame on others will not help you on Judgement Day.
If we are to ... ( 2 months ago by cscher)
If we are to fashion marriage as the Bible teaches, then we should order a man to marry his brother's widow if they did not have children (see Genesis and the story of Onan). Onan was killed by God because he refused to be with his brother's widow (if you believe the Bible word for word). I find it quite dishonest to point to the Bible in defending someone's stance against gay marriage. And why the preoccupation with anal sex? What about 2 women, and isn't marriage more than just sex acts?
I never said that ... ( 2 months ago by kcirish)
I never said that you or any of the videos you have made, convinced me to not rejoin the church. As good as your posts are, they are hardly impressive enough to alter my choices in life. I dont agree with the "loser" comments from the pther Youtuber but what ever happend to turning the other cheek?
"Turning the other ... ( 2 months ago by WeVlog)
"Turning the other cheek" refers to not seeking revenge or retaliation on someone who has wronged you. I wasn't seeking revenge on this guy with my video response, I made to inform him that not all of the anti-gay marriage protestors are Christians, nor is the debate limited to the argument that "gay marriage is against God's will". There are other arguments involved in the debate, such as the one I made in the video; as well as whether gay marriage devalues the traditional hetero marriage.
Why the ... ( 2 months ago by WeVlog)
Why the preoccupation with anal sex? Well, why NOT talk about it? Promoting gay marriage is the same as promoting the gay lifesyle, which typically accepts sexual relations between two members of the same sex. You can't talk about one issue and just completely forget the other issues that are apart of it.
I'm glad we can ... ( 2 months ago by cscher)
I'm glad we can talk about this like adults and not be disrespectful, like some of the other folks here.
Now, my point is that there is so much more to a relationship than the act of sexual intercourse, at least there is a lot more between me and my wife (I'm a straight guy). But I have yet to hear one compelling, reality-based reason why gay people should not be able to have a moral, monogomous relationship. All I'e ever heard was along the lines of "it's disgusting" or "God dislikes it."
A moral, monogomous ... ( 2 months ago by WeVlog)
A moral, monogomous relationship is definitely a good thing, however... there's a difference in agreement as to what is considered "moral" nowadays. A lot of people would argue that sex between two members of the same sex isn't moral.
I would be curious ... ( 2 months ago by cscher)
I would be curious about how those people would define morality. That's a pretty ambiguous term. I see "moral" as behaving in a way that does not bring harm to others. Personally, I don't see how two people, anyone, who are in a monogamous relationship somehow bring harm to society.
But I appreciate your time and thoughts. It was nice talking to you.
the comparison is ... ( 1 month ago by ThePalentine)
the comparison is valid, if an infertile couple gets married with prior knowledge of infertility, then the sex acts are not open to the possibility of creating children. you don't know if they are infertile through no fault of their own...what if a women has her tubes tied or if the man has a vasectomy, both are rather common, are their marriages invalid simply because they knowingly have sex without the possibility of children? some gays say they are gay through no fault of their own, i agree.
