To MPA34: From 1975-1979, I went to about 20 Grateful Dead concerts. Magical, mystical, marvelous! Wish you could have been there. You would have LOVED those concerts. Experiences beyond words, man. Thank God for YouTube and these vids, right? We can still see them here.

I visited my 20 year old at college a few weeks back in Albany and when I walked in the dorm he was sitting there with his friends listening to the DEAD cranked up high. I taught him well. I wish they could have seen all the concerts I saw. RIP Jerry

This was 2 days after my Phillies won the World Series...I was at the W.S. game with my Dad...but only 11 yrs. old...too young for the concert...My 1st show was @ 3 Rivers in Pitts. during their 25th Anniv. Tour 1989 or 1990 I believe...it was the greatest experience of my life at that time...best bunch of people I'd ever been around...you know now that I think of it I'm pretty sure about a week later the keyboardist was found dead,can't remember his name remember his face

It's me again...wanted to try and redeem myself...I'm thinkin' the keyboardist's name was Brent Midland...can someone PLEASE Help me out...And after that I believe is when the band started using the services of one Bruce Hornsby.

Yeah, it was Brent Mydland and after that they got Bruce Hornsby to play for them until 90-92 and at they same time (90) they had a keyboardist named Vince Welnick who played for them until Jerry's sad death.
