Wow, I never knew Judy Garland played tennis. But then again she did so well with the movies so I can see why she didn't make a career change :)

the voices are hilarious. The accents are very weird. Its like Harry enfield Chumley and Warner sketches.
Laurel and Hardy are the best ever!
Chaplin and Goddard ... ( 1 year ago by PC3900)
Chaplin and Goddard were never legally married - this helped cost Goddard the role of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. After they split in 1942, Chaplin claimed they had been secretly married, but it was an effort to prevent further damage to her career.

So sad seeing Stan and Ollie so old, being forced to work because they were ripped off by Hal Roach studios. Long live Stan and Ollie !

That was some of the best stuff I have seen in a great long while. The Danny Kaye execution sequence was hilarious!

Laurel
Hardy were NOT "ripped off" by the Hal Roach Studios. It was their later work for other studios that "ripped them off" and destroyed their ability to control and make the most of their films.

They wanted to work. Work under their own conditions. Not something they enjoyed since they parted with Hal Roach. It's a shame their last film together was so dismal. Atol K, or Utopia.

Not true- Hal Roche ... ( 9 months ago by robbie5050)
Not true- Hal Roche kept them on seperete contracts making sure one was always under contract so the other one would have no choice but to resign on.

Yes, L
H were under separate contracts, but were paid very well for their work -- Stan the most, as he also wrote, directed, edited, etc. Read Richard Lewis Ward's 2005 book "A History of the Hal Roach Studios," other books on the team or listen to the surviving audio iterviews with Stan from 1957, etc. L
H's best, most profitable and happiest years were with Roach, as Laurel admitted over and over in later interviews.

The irony of the "hitler mustache" before it was ever called that. It was said that Hitler actually modeled his look after Chaplin.

Stan
Ollie, and Danny Kaye are such "pros" that you'll notice they can't resist doing "bits" even for newsreel cameras! Re. the other comments, I can only tell you that Stan Laurel told me (understand,I was all of 10) that "Babe", liked golf, the horses, etc."after-hours" and he(Stan) liked to stay at the studio, doing the cutting, gags and so-forth on the pix! Chaplin was supposedly "not amused" by Groucho's antics, but I love Groucho's shot, "How are you without a racquet?" Pricless clips! R.J.

It is always nice to see Laurel and Hardy. I never knew that Mahatma Gandhi and Charlie Chaplin met each other! The footage is interesting.
