Though it was logical to kill off Lady Ashley and Luke, the King, Prince Michael, and Claudia could have died too (why not as Claudia died in the next cliffhanger and she really didn't do much in her last season with the series).

Keep in mind that Camille Marchetta, pulled from Dallas wrote the 84/85 season for Dynasty. The 85/86 season had a whole new set of writers and directors (some like Camille left the show, other regulars were pulled to the Colbys). The finale itself was wonderful, the big cheat was the resolution which for me was the begining of the end.

I don't think they all should have died, but this was a big deal, and there should have been more repercussions. If they didn't want everyone walking wounded Blake could have woken up in hospital after 4 months and everyone was mostly healed. But there should have been consequences. Maybe Steven was so pissed at Luke's death that he starts drinking. Maybe Dominique got addicted to pain pills because of her injuries. Or maybe Krystle had already been kidnapped and her double died here.

Yeah they could get a group of sexy, hot twenty to thirty-somethings to play the new generation, then have Blake, Krystle, Alexis, et al either do guest starring roles or just be part of the show. Shows like Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, 90210, and others are pretty popular today-this revival can work!

...they really messed up the follow up episode, though. They should have done an episode where members were held hostage; they could have some of the family members try and escape, etc. This episode started the decline of the show, actually...

zoeydebra..yes they sure did! Claudia Blaisdel, once married to Steven as his "beard", went crazy again and burned down Fallon's hotel La Mirage where Alexis lived in the top penthouse suite. Hated that because Alexis' digs were posh!
