Thanks
I read the first book in 1997, I was 10. A friend gave me it, he was one of the first ones in the world to have it, think there was only about 500 printed intially. Thought it was brilliant, seems strange that now ten years later, it's finished. Literally grew up with Harry Potter, not so much of a fan now that I'm 20,not as excited at the books being released etc, grown up I suppose but the last one really was excellent. Replaced Azkaban as my favourite.

Strange again that its now this world phenomenon when I can still remember just me and my friend talking about it 10 years, finding out that no one else had ever heard of it. Hopefully it will keep kids reading for years to come, just like it did me.

I finished the book in two days and think she is brilliant for having tied up all loose ends and answered every question I had. There was not a single plot hole in the entire series. LOVED the book...especially the last chapter that showed the future for them..

i cant believe all of us are living in this time of jk rowling. because shell be bigger than TOLKEIN (lord of the rings) and shes making history as we live. shes a literary figure of such importance presently and will continue to be revered after her life and ours. her books that she left behind will still be enjoyed generation after generation. she created a masterpiece, a portkey into a world of her creation that we all feel at home when in its confines

Tolkien created a ... ( 1 year ago by blackribbon79)
Tolkien created a world far bigger than Rowling has. So you cannot really compare them. Lord Of The Rings is only a tiny fraction of the whole iceberg. There are far more information in his stories. Also has published many books about the origins, languages, traditions and way of living of every single race in the worlds he created. Tolkien stories are by far much more complex than HP. However both authors will remain important for future generations to come.
