I think you do have a point that at times public opinion can go against conventional wisdom. But I think it depends on how educated the public is. In the '40's, our country was indoctrinated as non-interventionist and perhaps FDR did what he felt he had to do, so I give him somewhat of a pass. What Bush did was blatantly lie to swap the Ba'athists, who the CIA put in power in the '60's, hoping to control them and their oil, for a new government to control.

dumbed down people ARE and HAVE BECOME. Bush pushed his campaign of terror because he scared a stupid and complacent people into a fear submission. FDR didn't have the internet for people who saw what he was actually doing to post it on youtube and inform their fellow americans. So as you might remember is only because people didn't know what a murdering war causing ass fuck FDR was and stand up and speak out like real americas, something you wouldn't understand.

You're right, but it's the only sort of avenue that's going to throw false information at you without you ever having to do anything besides press a button. Why don't you use this wonderful tool called the 'internet' to find your own information, or better yet why don't you read a BOOK? There's plenty of truth out there, you just have to find it. Wisdom is just a matter of asking the right questions, and then trying to find answers to those questions.
