Keith Olbermann Special Comment on Sarah Palin

Uploaded by: RoachRadio
Video Description:
The "Countdown" commentator says it is contradictory for the Alaska Governor to call out Barack Obama for "palling around with terrorists" when her own husband is an acquaintance of one. Or to even bring up Obama's former Rev. Jeremiah Wright, when she herself has her own controversial pastor.

This guy is pathological and unstable. Virtually everything he says is easily disproved. He appeals only to the uneducated or ultra-liberals. He is an embarrassment
Once again ... ( 1 day ago by wtomlin76)
Once again Olbermann nails it. Palin's husband is close with a guy who wants Alaska to succeed from the United States of America and the Republicans were saying Obama pals around with terroists? It's a real sad statement that such a hypocritical personality gained national attention. Positions like Vice-President require someone to be ready for all that comes with the job.
bunshine: You're ... ( 1 day ago by Marbles471)
bunshine: You're joking, right? You're actually holding up a book called "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" as proof that liberalism is a mental disorder? I mean, do you even realize how silly that is?
And what on earth makes an eliminationist bully like Michael Savage any kind of expert on mental disorders? What, you believe something's a mental disorder just because he SAYS it is?
And let me ask you this--do you even know what liberalism actually IS? Most hardcore righties, it seems, do not.

FillibusterJones: Give me a break, willya? What is it with conservatives and this "normal American families scare rich liberal elitists" nonsense? Honestly, where do you get this stuff? Do you not see what a silly premise that is?
I agree that Olbermann is really beating a wounded horse at this point. But Palin does not grate us because she is a from a "normal family." She grates us because she is unknowledgable, provincial, simplistic, and worst of all in my opinion, INCURIOUS.
That is why.
(continuing) What I ... ( 1 day ago by Marbles471)
(continuing) What I find astounding about the right is how they seem to champion anti-intellectualism, favoring politicians with very narrow worldviews, who don't show capacity for nuanced judgement (in fact, they scorn it).
Palin's background is completely different from Bush's (how the HELL did millions ever buy the idea that a blueblood like him was a good ol' boy like them?), but they both have the same kind of narrow, simplistic worldview that is EXACTLY we don't need leading the country.

calm down there buddy.
do i believe that liberalism is something that is caused by something that needs to be treated/medicated? - no, of course not. do i believe that idealogically they are a bit "crazy"? - yes. Im not calling the book proof, just that it may be interesting. Michael Savage is one of the few people t
hat can ontelligently comment on liberalism, as he used to be a liberal. yes i know what liberalism is. do you know what conservatism is?
I know what ( ... ( 20 hours ago by Marbles471)
I know what (American) conservatism WAS, or was purported to be. Nowadays, at least up until stress signs began showing recently, it's a three-way marriage between three broad interest groups who generally shouldn't have anything to do with each other: corporate big business types, small government/low taxes libertarians, and religious fundamentalists. Sure, there's overlap, but broadly speaking those three are pretty different (and in a sane system would have three different parties.)
Proclaiming that ... ( 19 hours ago by Marbles471)
Proclaiming that Savage can comment "intelligently" is dubious. I haven't listened to that much of him, but what I have heard indicates a very angry, very bitter man whose engine runs more efficiently on emotion than on rational thought. And when someone feels there is nothing shameful about letting their more primitive, tribalistic impulses hang out for everyone to see, when their driving force is "fear of the other", I can't see how their opinions are worthy of anyone's respect.
What is it about ... ( 19 hours ago by Marbles471)
What is it about liberalism that you find to be "ideologically a bit crazy"? (Barring the fact that if you move far enough left or right, you will eventually meet in the same place. Hitler and Stalin had more in common than either would have preferred to admit.)

Fundamentally ... ( 16 hours ago by Marbles471)
Fundamentally psychotic? It's a flawed system that in a perfect world wouldn't exist at all, but to call "fundamentally psychotic" an overstatement would be, well, an understatement.
I've spent a little time observing this particular issue from both sides, and if the eliminationists like Savage want to use words like that instead making any constructive arguments, that's too bad, because when they say things like that, they're not actually SAYING anything at all.
bunshine8plutz, ... ( 16 hours ago by Marbles471)
bunshine8plutz, smartness isn't really the issue. After all, the guy has to have some brains if he earned two PhD's. But being smart does not protect someone against being ignorant (willful ignorance is different from stupid ignorance), and worse, against being MEAN. I happen to think many of the eliminationist regressives are very stupid people, but what truly makes them reprehensible is the way they have poisoned American politics with their bigoted, sometimes outright murderous rhetoric.
bunshine, you know ... ( 16 hours ago by Marbles471)
bunshine, you know perfectly well that "homosexual extremists, "anti-American taxationists, and pot smokers" are not actual constituencies or voting blocs (the only one that even comes close is the first, and it's such a strawman caricature that I can't take it seriously).
Michael Savage, and ... ( 15 hours ago by bunshine8plutz)
Michael Savage, and men like him, are willing to debate anything. He, and many others (Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck etc) are all willing to debate. the problem comes from the leftists that brand every opposing viewpoint as bigotry and hate.
No. What many of ... ( 15 hours ago by Marbles471)
No. What many of those people engage in is not debate. This is exactly what I'm talking about. They have normalized viciousness so thoroughly that many people have come of politcal age not knowing anything different, and think that the awful things they say are within the parameters of sensible debate. Millions have become desensitized to it--they can't even recognize viciousness when they hear it anymore, because it's everywhere. And it's the people on that list who created this environment.
You know why ... ( 15 hours ago by Marbles471)
You know why they're willing to debate anyone? Because they know they'll always "win". Through sheer bullying, brazen libel, black-and-white logic, and shameless appeals to our worst instincts, they "win" by simply being dominant and tough, facts be damned. This is why, for example, Ann Coulter's followers are able to say she "wins" debates when she hasn't actually said anything substantive at all. Sarcasm and a domineering personality = "winning" for those who have been nurtured on this stuff.

On the contrary, I've watched, listened to, and read them quite frequently (not so much Beck and Levin, very much Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Malkin, Schlussel, to a lesser extent Savage and Liddy). I've seen the results of the culture they've cultivated. Particularly with this election, some very ugly genies were let out of the bottle, genies that THEY helped tease out.
Be specific. Which aspects of what I said are baseless? You watch them. You know their tactics.

By the way one the alaskan senators who is up for reelection has about 7 things of fraud pinned on him. If he is reelected, he will be kicked out of the senate, and the governer will have to appoint a new senator. And of course, that would be Sarah Palin. There's word that she will appoint herself.
