Simply brilliant - no way was he overrated - post moves, defence and rebounding. Check out his 1987 playoff performance whilst playing with a broken foot - as brave as Bird, Reed and Isiah combined.

Kevin McHale was great. Those long arms on defense and those post moves were lethal. He could embarrass you all night.

No doubt the greatest post-up player ever! When he and Bird played you had to play them honest, no double teaming it should have been illegal for these guys to play !!!

If sir Charles Barkley said that McHale was the best Powerforward he ever played against, tells you that he is a top NBA player Period. And yes todays NBA players lack of all game, witts and talent. McHale would have averaged over 20 ppg and 10 rpg if he played in a team that Depended more on him. It wans`tn until 1998 that 90s born players won a title by themselves XD buaaa 80s Rules

My all-time All-NBA Team: POINT GUARD- Magic Johnson SHOOTING GUARD- Michael Jordan SMALL FORWARD- Larry Bird POWER FORWARD- Kevin McHale CENTER- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar I don't like to call any one player "the greatest player of all-time" because of the different positions and duties of each position, but I do like to rank the greatest player at each position, and these are the greatest at each position that I was fortunate enough to watch on a consistent basis (I'm only 36 years old).

McHale Not better than Charles Barkley between 1985 and 1995 XD

As good as McHale was. Tim Duncan could give him a run for his money.
Duncan was more ... ( 3 months ago by AceroySangre)
Duncan was more All-Around: Better Passer, Better Rebounder and probalay slightly defender than McHale. But Kevin would beat him easily outscore him in the Post by Far and also was more witty and had way more court awareness. Any how Charles Barkley in his Prime from 1985 to 1995 was better than any PF that ever played. And he did not need Bird-Parish, Stockton or David Robinson to make him even Greater :)
Duncan is probably ... ( 2 months ago by lewalcindor)
Duncan is probably a better help defender, but Kevin is by far the better one-on-one defender: he had to guard Andrew Toney when Toney was killing Boston. As great a post player that Duncan is, McHale is simply almost without peer in the low-post department in terms of creativity and effectiveness. Otherwise, Duncan has him beat in all other categories and is one of the quintessential winners of all time.
Droog13: Rodman the ... ( 1 week ago by bassman5123)
Droog13: Rodman the starting PF? He can hardly score. That's a waste of an entire position! I guess you're figuring that they already have more than enough offensive firepower, so you decided to put a defensive specialist on the team. Not a bad idea, but McHale's a way better shot blocker, about equal at rebounding, and a better tip-in man. Plus, I think the extra offense is more important since you're not giving up much (if any) on D but stand to gain substantially on offense.
