I think Dylan himself would disagree with what you have written. I think he would say he has been many things and that neither you or I can pin down because we don't know him. Maybe he was arrogant to the reporter but was generous to Donovan. He was cruel to Edie Sedgwick but loved his wife. He mistreated Joan Baez, but later regretted that he did. What I'm trying to get at is that we shouldn't excuse Dylan, but we are no one to condemn him either.
