Yeah I actually had no fucking idea what that ad was about, so I'll just assume your interpretation. I mean, MS's reputation is on the line here. If Windows 7 flops, then no one in their right mind will trust Windows 8 to be any better. They might be able to catch people on with Midori if it turns out to be any good, but Windows needs to be trashed and they should just focus on Midori. Midori, btw, is a new OS developed from scratch by MS that will succeed Windows. I'm looking forward to it.

Well I'll admit the commercial made me go "what the fuck" but it's funny to see bill gates in a commercial.
I'd like to know why people that post here don't like vista that much. If you have never tried it then just shut the fuck up. Once you get used to it, things are put together better.
I don't really know what their point in the commercial is either, but probably its to get attention. One of those commercials that makes people talk because it is so weird. And look, its working.

Ad says that Microsoft is for everyday folk. That's why Bill Gates and Seinfeld appear in everyday situations with everyday people. It even plays on pc vs mac ads. The Mac guy looks hip and modern but its the chubby, funny looking pc who's adorable and people root for cos they can relate. Gates looks just like pc which is perfect! Mac's good for making a pretty picture, stylish (and for snobs who believe in a mac community) but windows is for real, practical folks who want to get real work done!

I can so relate to you on switching to Mac's. I get shunned because I payed so much for it, but it was so worth it. I honestly have no idea where Microsoft is going with the new I'm a PC ads.

In europe, Vista Ultimate retail is 320
€, a Mac Mini with OS X 10.5 is 499€. So i guess you pay too much if you get Vista ;)

Windows is a great OS! We have all the software and don't have to worry about incompatibility with our software. Of course vista had that problem but a much stabler windows (which is XP) will give you no worries. Mac users are mostly people who don't know how to take care of their computers. Also, if someone goes on and says I am a microsoft fanboy... well you are wrong. I use Linux distros, and BSD..
