´s bass solo and beatiful brush work of Billy Hart are the only things happenin´.It´s a great tune but not the way Lloyd plays it.

Charles continues to play as eloquently and as creatively as ever. He still moves in the same way as when he played in the Fillmore East in the East Village decades ago. I pay attention to his music not his movements. Keep moving Charles.

Hi Mario,
Charles is playing an older Conn tenor. It's not a 10M model because the bell keys aren't on the same side. I'm not sure exactly what mouthpiece. I knew at one time, but I've forgotten.

Staggering. Re: Lloyd's 'movement' ... there is on youtube a Cannonball video of 'Work Song' with Lloyd ... check it .... amazing solo, and dancework worthy of Nureyev ... astounding ... it's like.... unbelieveable !

I saw Charles Lloyd with Cannonball in 1964, his movement did detract from his playing, which was straight out of Coltrane. Now he has his own style and sound and is completely unique.

If you regard his movement in terms of a historical perspective, watch old videos of Lester Young. Remember, the movement is generated as a part of the music making process in this case, not to subvert it.
