National Post videographer Brent Foster and reporter Brian Hutchinson spent several days in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, among the homeless and the drug addicts: "We step into an alleyway near the busy intersection of Hastings and Main.
The entrance is littered with dirty needles. This is a public shooting gallery, one of many here. Men and women huddle together, injecting themselves with heroin, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, codeine. In the neck, the arms, the legs. Their faces are twisted, distorted."

| ahaha this is good stuff, i know the guy who said " i didnt do nothing boss". he used to visit this old lady who was maybe 9 years older than him, that lived in the apartment i did security for in the dtes. he made her think he was in love with her, so she fell for him. then he scammed her for everything she had. she was semi dillusional to begin with, but afterwards i felt really bad for her. he still tries to visit her but is banned from the building. |

| I miss it. I have some strange pull toward that place. I guess I'm fascinated by how far out a human mind can get, never to return. Vancouver is still an amazing and wonderful place! |
