I am almost done with book thats why I am checking out his old footage. he really was revolutionary by being a a comic without real punch lines and creating that uncomfortable tension. people back then didn't know if they had to laugh or wait.

totally agree. finished it a couple of weeks ago and thought it was great. Well written, and as a comedy fan, utterly fascinating. this is the first ive seen him do the dove and hanky tricks since reading about them.

Is this the actual introduction of Steve Martin? Seems like, so that's awesome!~ I used to watch the Smothers Brothers show, and I may have seen this when it aired. But, how would I know, I was a little kid. It was his appearance on SNL in the late 70's that put him on top. This video is like a time machine, going back a few more years and giving me a second chance to see something I may or may not've seen, with a new perspective.

Some people just go grey early. My dad's side of the family, all got grey hair in late twenties to mid thirties. The odd thing, is they all look younger than their age in face otherwise.

I've never used any of the strong illegal drugs like meth or coke, but I started going gray at 14 and now at 39 I'm about 40% gray. It's progressing slowly but the onset was VERY early. So, it can happen to anyone.
