Not Irish, don't drink, just have good music taste. Maybe it was harsh, but at least take a look at the originals like Johnny Cash and Gordon Lightfoot to compare, and then read my comment again.

Never heard of any G.Lightfoot and some of the most lame people I know idolize Johnny Cash now when he's a plant food. Just like back in 1994 when Kurt Cobain topped himself. I listen what I want, nothing else.

Then the fact that people ideallise Johnny Cash and the fact that they are lame are entirely unconnected. Also, Gordon Lightfoot originally wrote the song to express regret over divorcing his wife, so I just feel it should be sung with more sensitivity. But I understand you listening to what you want - I do the same. I just feel rather strongly about that song.

I agree with you that the Gordon Lightfoot is far superior to this version . Not heard the Johnny cash one yet...I'm going to find it now.... :)

It's amazing how much more I like this version of this song than Gordon Lightfoot's original version. Usually I'm the other way around. I usually like the original versions better.

Good arrangement of a late 60s song. I am not sure why they used this song though on the closing credits. As if there was not enough classy music played in 1979 at Studio 54! It was all downhill after that!
