With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman has been making headway against local crime...until a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Heath Ledger) unleashes a fresh reign of chaos across Gotham City. Yes.. Jack's joker was terrifying. But I just LOVE Heath's version because he changed everything about himself to be the character. When I see Jack's Joker, I see Jack playing the Joker. When I see Heath's Joker, I don't see the actor under the makeup... just the visible embodiment of the Joker.

I'm a huge fan of batman...I really want katie holmes in this film instead of maggie G...for me,the character rachel dawes is made for katie...if they want to replace with another actress,find someone that suite for this character and for christian bale...i know maggie is so talented but she is not hot and pretty enough..lol...

Is there anything I hate more than when people say Katie Holmes was more suited for the role than Maggie? NO. Maggie Gyllenhaal > Katie Holmes in every way. Katie Holmes is plain, annoying, completely unbelievable in every role she's ever been in.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was not >Katie Holmes. For the most part, she was pretty much =Katie Holmes. She didn't play the part any differently and was in fact less believable than Katie. The only reason people keep saying she's better is because nobody likes Katie Holmes.

No people say she was better, because she was. She is more believable as a district attorney, didn't talk out of the side of her mouth, and didn't shake her head all the time. Also she actually was able to show emotions beyond bitchiness. You are either a Gyllenhaal hater or Holmes lover.

I'm actually neither as I've never seen any other Maggie Gyllenhaal movie outside this one, and have never seen any Holmes films outside Batman Begins.
I will say that Katie Holme's version actually called for acting, where Maggie Gyllenhaal really only had to look at the ground and be angry for about the seven minutes she had on the screen. Really, Maggie couldn't really pull off looking at the Joker right. They played the part no differently.
People just don't like Katie Holmes.
