If you actually read the Bible you will find that Christ was Jewish in two ways, first he was from the tribe of Judah making him Jewish by blood, second he practiced the Jewish religion. Baptism was obviously taught at that time as part of the Jewish religion. Since the law of Moses was given to the Israelites by Jesus the God of the Old Testament, it can easily be seen that those who have practiced true religion in any era have always been followers of Christ.

I am sure I have loved this song all my life. First time I heard it I was a teenager, then every so often someone revives it again. I am now 52 years old and I still love it.
