Roger lives in the US because he loves the low tax rates. Where else in the world can an artist build incredible wealth through huge royalties, real-estate investments, and minimal touring. Roger gives listeners the impression that he is a socialist but he wouldn't dare move to France where 50%+ of his wealth would be "donated" to the state via their high tax rates.

well they're standing behind a wall trying to reach the masses by asking for a lending hand to defeat a enemy, which i think is "the machine" or "the system" but in the end the song comes to a realization that the masses dont really care. so until ppl decide to be good people and lend a helping hand only then can we as united humans break the system.so i think that the wall symbolizes the i dont care attitude in this song.

I love these lyrics and guitar riffs - they're so chilling and emotional. Pink Floyd did great work on this album and the hard work goes noticed since it's one of the most recognizable albums. Roger, in my opinion is much more in tune with darker, more dramatic music while Gilmour is more "whimsical" (lol) and likes balance between music and lyrics. I think this songs shows a healthy spectrum of Floyd's talent.

This is amazing..Was there any live video's of floyd in the 70's? Would love to see some live floyd with waters performing some tracks from animals. Doesnt seem to be many live old school videos from them at all..what a shame...

I agree 100%...Im a floyd finatic but must say that it is lacking without Waters. Waters added a certain darkness and mysterious element that hooked you. This era of Pink floyd is timeless. Rock on and long live Richard Wright. As for Gilmour, His guitar playing has a feel and emotion that is just beyond description. The solo from "dogs" really made me take notice. The "animals" album never gets any praise.

Spot on. Pink Floyd's best album to date was Dark Side of the Moon. The album spent fourteen years on the music charts in which no musical artist couldn't duplicate the feat.
