Here's proof that women are making progress:
My mother was educated as a Civil Engineer in Egypt and then moved to Dubai (back when it was nothing but desert). Back then, there were no femal engineers, and my mother thought she got her first break. Turns out her employer literally hired her just for laughs, and then he fired her.

But she presisted and is now a manager of her department. She was officially declared the first female engineer in Dubai, and even though I still believe she isn't getting what she's worth, she's definitely made it a long way and I am now following in her footsteps... Proudly.
