The Eee PC (this model is a 701) is not even a year old and it's seen so much success that ASUS has made Eee PC a sub-brand. Their smallest model has seen 3 revisions: 701 has a 7" screen, Celeron-M 900MHz, 2GB to 8GB. Price is around $350. 900 has a 9" screen, Celeron-M 900MHz, 12GB to 20GB. Price is around $400. 901 has a 9" screen, Atom 1.6GHz, 12GB to 20GB. Price is around $600. So is the 701 good? It's cheap, but compared to the 900, not cheap enough. The 900 is currently the best value.

a custom version of linux based off of ubuntu 7.1...well i haven't seen this video all the way, but this guy might have windows xp, as the eee supports xp.

what kind of editing programs? audio, text, graphical, or what? it's linux so you can probably get any open source program on it...and i say probably because of it's small disk space.

but you can get an external drive or sd card, and you can get like 32 and 40 gb for more space its not an hp with 250 gbs it is perfect

It is actually based of Xandros (however you spell it). You can install a custom version of Ubuntu on it but that is NOT what it comes with by default (not in most countries anyway)

The new models have 10'' screens. The 1000H actually has an 80GB hard drive. This video is a little outdated.
