I'm one of many people who love this song but don't get the video. The clowns don't bother me as much as Ingrid's blank, dead expression and the way her lips barely move. Would it kill her to smile? I know she does smile at the end before she kisses him but it's too little, too late.

M'kay, the way I understand the video is that she fell in love with the clown, right? But she's not used to all the white face makeup, red noses, etc. She doesn't really fit in with the lifestyle, at least at the party or wherever they are. So she's sad through the video because she can't bring herself to love this person because of his outer appearance. But then at the end she realizes it isn't looks that matters, and the world is all rainbows and unicorns again.
