I think it's pretty much known by all how close in comparison the 2 cars are... That's not the issue. Each car is 'Better' for different purposes and each can compete with the other in any of those competitions. I like both but the Sooby is always the'Prefered Car'. Watch the STi vs. Evo shootout on speed chanel last night? Crawford STi took fastest time and EVO won overall;)

your best bet if you are into drag racing dont buy the sti or evo.get a vett camaro or stang .stock turbo cars runs slow when there are hot also the power ban for the sti is 3.5k rpm to 5.5k rpm . . .selling my 04 sti

No more positive opinion comments concerning the evo please. The Subaru is better in every place but the drag strip. It's clear the UK STi and EVO MR are in different leagues.

The sti is a better built car. I had an evo 9 and am going to get a sti because of its bigger engine six speed and hids and better build quality that you can feel after driving both the evo and sti. The evo is faster because of its high rpm redline, gear ratios, and more flexing chassi than the sti that helps give the evo less understeer than the sti. And plus if you want a evo with features that an sti comes with you have to pay a few thousand more for the evo which is not worth it.

In the same year the Evo V Ralliart RS450 was built. 450Bhp and 1260 kg in weight...Easily blitz an MRfq400. I love Impreza's I would take 22b or Type-25 over any Evo but the facts are Evo is generally more capable.

Yeah, you're an idiot. Since the 22b days I know that subaru has made the car much more "stable" as you put it. As for the evo, i don't really know they didn't bring anything before the evo VIII to the states so i can't really comment.

Just took ownership of an sti, Clarkson said it all. The grip on turning into corners is amazing, still not reached limit! Drives like a turbocharged steam-roller! Also always loved that subaru note, sweet as!
