The army has been separated from the people very effectively by the government and so I don't know how heavily they associate themselves with the rest of the people.

Oh, I see. Still, I'm beginning to think that peace protest has run its course and change cannot come without armed support either from outside (ie the US or the UN which seems very unlikely), or within, ie elements of the domestic military. I doubt China would intevene.

ASEAN are siding the Military Junta. It is now up to Myanmar people to seek USA and EU help. The main reason ASEAN countries are not condemning Than Swie is because they fear China which is attended the recent ASEAN summit meetings. ASEAN leaders are up front expressing revulsion at shooting of protestors but in reality some ASEAN leaders actually voted against UN's resolution condemning Myanmar Junta for humans rights violation.

Only one missile will solve Burma issue. Just only one. How much gonna cost ? US 100K or something.
