The Wizard Of Oz - Side 1 (Part 1)

Uploaded by: BrooklynMouse
Video Description:
Before I should play side 1, my thanks going out to James, the Angry Video Game Nerd for reviewing one of the worst video game of all time for the Super Nintendo. You guessed it, "The Wizard of Oz", and I am going to play it.
This LP was released on the Disneyland label in 1969 featuring the complete story and the songs (ST-3957). It was based off a classic 1939 film which was not from Disney, but it was from MGM. It stars Judy Garland as Dorothy. I have this film on both DVD and VHS and it was one of my favorite movi
es ever made. It has all of the songs from that film were "Over the Rainbow" which was a classic, "Follow the Yellow Brick Road", "Ding, Dong, The Witch Is Dead" and others. The LP was narrated by Robie Lester as Dorothy. Robie also narrated "The Brave Little Tailor" which was on my previous video
. Here is the first part of side 1 which is going to take three parts for this video under the 10-minute mark. If you want to see AVGN's review on a miserable game for the SNES, go watch his review over at GameTrailers: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31528.html

And don't forget, Disney made a film called "Return to Oz" when it was released back in 1985. This film was a continuation of the Oz books.

I actually meant that Disney released other Oz stories as read-along records, "The Scarecrow of Oz," "The Tin Woodman of Oz," and "The Cowardly Lion of Oz," all read by Ray Bolger, who played the Scarecrow in the MGM movie.

If it were really based on the MGM film, the footwear would've been ruby slippers instead of silver shoes. The only connection between this and the MGM is the songs included, and this was because Disney ALWAYS has songs during its storytellings.

I have a story about this recording. First, it is based on the book not the movie. i was blown away when I finally read the book. Silver shoes insted of Ruby slippers.
My story to be brief: I was 10. I had this record. We played it over and over. The time came to do something for Mrs. Shaw, our 4th grade teacher. So I was going to put on the Wizard of Oz play. We made costumes and I stayed up and copied down this record on paper thinking i was making a script fo
