Performing in front of a sell out crowd at The Warfield, Scott Weiland, Slash, Duff, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner proved that they could rock the house. The crowd was totally into it, and you could really tell that the band were having a great time. There was something for everyone here...tracks from Contraband...tracks from the upcoming Libertad...a great rendition of Vasoline...a cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", where Scott let the audience sing the last verse...and the Talking Head's "Psycho Killer" as icing on this rock and roll cake. What a phenomenal show. Yes, rock the house they did. But they were also able to bring it down a notch, when they needed to, as they did while performing this number...showing the kind of maturity that only comes with time.
As for the video itself, security was ultra tight tonight - they said it was the band's call. They were allowing NO digital cameras of any kind, so I was fortunate to get this. But it wasn't easy, and as you can see, I had to deal with passers-by and the couple in front of me, who decided during
this song that they should have a conversation. Anyway, I got a few photos for my scrapbook, and another video of "Wish You Were Here". Unfortunately, while it has decent sound, the video is totally unwatchable - everyone stood during the song, and I couldn't see the stage from my position. Oh w
