Sorry dude, Jimi Hendrix for me, even SRV would have agreed with me on that. Jimi brokle all the rules and created sonic landscapes that no one else had, and certainly has not been attempted to this day. Jimi invented half of SRV's style, and SRV was at his best inmho covering Jimi, not knocking SRV, but Jimi created a lot of orginal and revolutionary music, SRV just expanded on trad blues, but man he could play them blues, as ciould Albetr King RIP Jimi, Albert and Stevie.

Have you ever watched Buddy Guy play? Jimi Hendrix took alot from his style. Hendrix was my all time fav, right up there with SRV, but alot of the older bluesmen had styles all their own.

I like Buddy, but for me Hendrix, Albert King, and especially SRV are way better!
I like the whole old blues crew, but my all time favorites are by far SRV and Hendrix, they beat them all! Nobody stands chance to them! They are gods of guitar!

Thats true, a lot of players borrow from Buddy Guy, he is in my top four favourites, he plays with so much power and passion, but he can play soft slow, blues just as well, he is really a phenomenal player. I love a lot of the older bluesmen too, Robert Johnson, Elmore james, Muddy Waters, Big Joe Williams, they all are great abd with thier own styles as you say, also Albert Collins, although he is more "modern" I guess, in the last forty years anyway!
