I think the ad appearing at the bottom is a good idea, having the pause if you click it is a great idea as well. The only time ads like that become intrusive for me is if there is some sort of subtitle or something at the bottom I can't see because of the ad.

Commercial free was amazing. Like napster when it first came out. Too good to be true. In time folks will forget how good it was. Freedom has a price. Remember when tv commercials happened on the half hour? Then every 15 minutes? Sometimes shows you watch seems more like a commercial advertising a show. Maybe Youtube will become an advertising site that you can watch videos in.

all ad's are annoying. but people have to put up with them all the time. people see thousands of ad's a day! that's very annoying which turns into stressful...

The first time it happened, I was really annoyed. But, the more I've seen it and gotten used to it, the ads don't bother me as much. I think the little yellow marker that lets you know the ad is coming is a big help because I can easily see what videos are going to have ads and I'm ready to click it away.

But that's the problem. We've all gotten used to the ads. I feel like the reason youtube got so popular in the first place was because it was different and innovative. It was controlled by the users rather than some higher power. when you put in ads you are giving them contol back to the advertisers.

I don't like them that way. I like ads better when you can choose to avoid them. It's pretty much like a pop-up. But it's better then a pre-roll.

I actually like this idea, it helps both youtube and me make money. However, I would like to dictate how,when and where these ads are overlaid. Like with the comment below,If I had subtitles then I would either put the overlay to a side bar or on the top %20 percent. Also instead of taking up an entire lower %20 it would also be a good idea to put a little ad bug in one corner of the vid when there is alot going on in the vid.
