"mytagisWVU" He does actually play quite a few wrong notes, but due to the fact he plays so fast they are masked well. 0:21 for example. Still a great player though.

yeah, the malmsteen fender model neck is scalloped, it help a faster finger action mostly on tapping and shredding, since u dont feel the wood under the strings...only u have to take care un chords, otherwise u will risk to go out of tune pressing strings too much :D

scalloped not help speed if you like malmsteen you should know that he says himself it makes you playing slower . the reason behind scalloped frets is its more comfatable and it helps GRIP so your fngers dont slip of the strings as much you can here malmsteen prove me right by just going on the Yngwie malmsteen studieo tour on you tube he even says it makes speed worse ! peace hope this helps

well,i was not talkin about what yngwie says,but just my point of view.
that s what happen to me when i play,i got 3 scalloped guitars and have to say that it help me also on goin some more fast.
have to say that the what help more goin faster is a lower action,i supose u agree with me in this,it help me also on tapping.
can we say that a scalloped neck help more precision?:)
by the way thx for answere, i like malmsteen but i m not a big fan so, thx for telling me a new thing about him :)

its cool and yeah i agree there good i have this exact guitar lol the malmsteen modle it not my fave guitar and To be honest i onlly got it for the Scalloped frets and they dont seem to make me faster just more clear .. but yeah i know wat you mean i play faster on my ibanez tho :) peace :)

I had never heard neo-classical guitar shreding much before Yngwie, I think he shocked alot of the Hendrix clones and even some of the Van Halen styled guitar back to the woodshed-
