The UK film magazine Vertigo regularly features Tarkovsky. There's a nice piece on the documentaries made about him by Chris Marker and Aleksandr Sokurov in the latest issue. There are further details on the Vertigo website as well as free articles.

A Czechoslovak film somewhat similar to Rublev, called Marketa Lazarova (1967) has just been released on DVD in the the UK...it's definitely recommended if you like Tarkovsky. Andrei Rublev converted me to Art Film when I was 15, and I still think it's amazing and unique.

If u want to see the film, go to cinema. Commentary is really interesting for me. I'm fan of tarkovski and this commentary tells a lot about director's techniques.

-If you are agree that it destroys how it could be interesting, useful? We have to find adequate words for these really amazing takes - equally amazing words! Who can do it? The words a la teacher's stony jargon or pseudo scientist's slang are criminal because destroying. And do not illustrate every logistical rubbish with this shots. You Tube is full with this... .

I'm 16 and I found it somewhat special, still I liked it. If there had not been commentary on, I probably would not have seen all the stuff which Tarkovsky is doing. Btw I am waiting for Tarkovskys Stalker to land on my adress. ^^
