Hi. It was his final show. He died of a heart attack about a month later and the show was aired about a month after he died. I read that Bowie refused to do "Little Drummer Boy" Because it wasn't right for him. So the producers kinda made it two songs by writing t Peace On Earth part for him. The rest is as they say... history. Be well...

it was recorded 11 september 1977 but bing never saw it released dying a little over a month later of a heart attack on a golf course in spain. Bing was a legend unlike bowie who had to have different lyrics created as little drummer boy was not cool enough for him.

It was the vocal range that concerned Bowie, not the words. The arrangement as recorded highlights Bowie's tenor voice and Der Bingle's baritone pipes. Who would have thought that such an odd pairing would create what is unquestionably a timeless classic.
