True, I think Ed Cobb wrote it for Brenda, just as he wrote Tainted Love for Gloria Jones. Someone on You Tube has posted the original version Brenda did for Del Fi Records; it's not really a video, just the song with a picture of her. Look it up - It's out of print and superior to the Motown recording, her voice really comes out without the strings in this one. The Small Faces version is great too.
