sorry for the bad mouse scrolling and bad typing. blame my mouse and keyboard =P this vidoe shows a simple cheap way to connect an xbox or xbox 360 to the internet without the $99.99 adapter.if you wanna look me up on xbox360 live my gamertag is brandonrr. yes i do use the same pc for xbox live as i did for this video. it's about a year and 1/2 old and has a wireless connection and i almost never lag when playing my call of duty 4 or halo 3. by the way... i have the halo 3 edition xbox360. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE VIDEO.

If u play wireless, u need a wireless router like linksys with the wireless adapter for the 360. But if u dont play wireless, you need a router to plag the ethernet cable into or modem.

you need to set the ip address to automatic. IP is just conection numbers and stuff. Dont worry. just set everything to auto. in the console info page.

hello every one is saying that there xbox is not being assigind ip adresses i havent got my xbox 360 yet just the old one but i havet tried it and should be geting a 360 soon :-) any way try going to network conection and clicking on one of the connection either xbox or internet and make a bridge then add the other one to the bridge this wil allow the xbox to access the router or dchp that assighns the ip address

thank you. finally someone understands how the whole thing works.
the xbox is connecting THROUGH the computer. it has no connection of it's own. most of the network problems are from your pc or router, not the xbox. btw, this works for all game sytems that use an ethernet cord to connect to the internet.

I got the thing up and I got both boxes checked, then what? I only have one of those ethernet cables in the back of my computer and it's being taken up by my router's cable, can i just take the router cable and stick it in my Xbox360? Or do I need to do something else? Please respond I need to get back on Xbox Live. :(

Make sure that your firewall is disabled when doing this, as it blocked the connection. I think if you set up some rules for it, you dont need to disable it.
