i think it's because the audience in those times did scream at rock concerts and not on well folk concerts, i mean when you hear old beatles live playin yesterday there's no screamin' because the girls shut up to hear those not very loud songs.

The 1960's saw what will be the greatest music revolution. Each week you had something new coming out, whether it was folk, blues, Motown, doo-wop, British, psychedelic, etc. Musicians could actually write their own songs and sing them. What a time to be alive to experience these great artists.
