i thought cops were to uphold the law. now in my area, isnt that called leaving the scene of an accident since the car did hit something? also failing to stop at a stop sign, failing to signal while making a turn and its illegal to drive on the roads in reverse.

Jumped out of gear my ass, i am a policeman, crown vic's do not just jump out of gear, he just didnt set the parking brake, and what an asshole for still giving them a ticket, i would have went right to the station and told them what happened lol.

you're just looking for excuses to hate on cops because your uncle beat your shit around when you were younger. the cop is allowed to leave the accident because he had someone stopped. i'm certain he went back to survey the damage, besides he probably just hit a pole anyway, which is city property. and he had his lights on the whole time, meaning he doesn't have to stop at stop signs, or signal, and there was no avoiding driving on the wrong side of the road. think before you speak.

The car hit a piece of city property. He had someone pulled over so he's required, since it's not an emergency, to return to the stopped vehicle and handle the situation. The next course of action is to report the damage and return to the station. As for still giving the guy a ticket, well, I'm not gonna call in sick to work because i got into a minor collision during my commute.

I doubt you are a "policeman" since they call themselves police officers. I never heard a police officer call themselves a policeman. Anyways back on topic, he should have just gave a warning because how dumb he must have felt. Also during a stop you can't hold them for unreasonably.
