| Incorrect. Harry Belafonte was born in NYC, and spent most of his young life there, save for four years when he lived with his grandmother in Jamaica. He also served in the Navy during WWII. He's about as American as it gets. |

| However you look at it, Belafonte is Jamaican-American. He would say that. He has never denied his roots. Many Americans tend to do this. True he was born in Harlem, but his Grandmother is from Jamaica. The point is this. He is an upstanding humanitarian....and I don't care where the hell he is from. I believe in his ideas, and values. |
