Every generation holds the perception that their generation is better. I am sure during the 80's parents believes in their generation music was better. For example, parents hated Elvis and the Beatles but now people people those 2 are superior to most mainstream music today. Maybe it is the stubbornness of each generation that entices them to believe things were better during their time due to sentimental and nostalgic value?
