He was the original host of the Tonight Show. He could ad-lib and be funnier than anybody I knew. He played jazz piano by ear, and wrote thousands of songs. He also wrote tons of books. Look up on YT "Steve Allen's Infectious Laughter", where he totally lost it on live TV. Also there's a four hour interview with Steve on YT, look under "Steve Allen Archive Interview"
