Not an ignorant statement, the problem is "Liberals" love to kill the rights of others while claiming open minded free thought and calling everyone ignorant with an opposing view. I want to compromise, you want to attack me you violent war mongering hippie.
The Church should have a right to perform the religious ceremony on people at their discretion and if gays want to have a state sanctioned marriage go see a justice of the peace, or a gay supporting preacher. compromise.

But this is about marriage, which isn't religious anymore. :o Jews, Protestants, Katholics, New Agies, Pastafarians all have ceremonies, but it's not about the ceremony (which we call Marriage, no matter what believe), it's about the rights that go with it. So we have a concept far stretching one believe, but is part of our broad human culture, so there is no reason to exclude gays (or blacks, lall people, blondes, ... ). Even Atheists propose and get married.

religious freedoms- which gives us the right to freedom from being coerced to a belief we dont share ..right? so you have no problem with religious restrictions being removed from gay people OR removed from AIDS treatment programs (abstinence only doesnt work) OR removed from stem cell research (caring for a few cells but not for the real children when theyre born) OR being given accurate info about evolution taught in the schools (its a fact, folks, we're apes, grow up & deal with it)

You know, I have tried time and time again to explain what I meant to people on this video's thread and still people just DON'T GET IT. I said I support gay marriage.. hear me? Support it! I have more gay friends than any straight dudes I know period.. people think im flaming because of it! I just DO NOT support forcing a church who's congregation paid for and built it from the ground up, being forced to perform the ceremony if they choose not to by a liberal court. two totally differant things.

If people don't like homosexuality and homosexual marriage, then they should just not be homosexuals and not get married to each other - and let people who are homosexuals be homosexuals and let people marry who the hell they want to get married to. the only time homosexuality endangers a marriage is when a gay person pretends to be straight, lies to hide his true identity and secret life, marries and has a litter of kids...and then gets caught.
if we were a society willing to accept gay people and allow them to live their lives just as straight people do, with all the legal rights and benefits and cultural legitimacy the heterosexuals have, this wouldn't happen. hooray for marriage! let's all take it seriously.

i kind of agree... maybe gays should understand by now that some religion still reject them. Only civil right is important. And if you want to get married religiously and your religion does not allow you that, then maybe it's time to change religion. or change the vision of your religious fellows/reps, but i'm not sure forcing a celebration in that way will work for that matter.

Aw, I'm sure if you post your comments in your native language, Roy will find some way of understanding you. But since I don't know your native language (because English is obviously your second or third) I'll have to explain this in English: Gays should have the right to marry, or else old, infertil, and any couples who wish not to have children should be banned from marrying. I am so thankful that now, in some states, all people are truly equal. Just like in the constitution.
