I watched your video, and although NLP does work (somewhat):
sales skills, product quality, real emotional/logical need/desire, etc. are all paramount to NLP... you might as well write NLP into your scripts, but it's the icing and not the cake. what derren is doing on the other hand is WAAAAY beyond the capabilities of NLP, their are way simpler solutions
. I know you want to believe NLP is that strong, I do too, but it's not. you really think 4 minutes of NLP can erase memories?

Well put this in to perspective though, this show is aired on one of the biggest stations in the UK. Simon Pegg is a much more known and bigger celebrity there than here, so the British audience would know who he is. Just because he's an actor, doesn't mean that this is staged. He's just another guest.

All you know it alls should read Derren's book. He is pretty scathing about NLP and the notion that he employs it. What he does use a lot is misdirection and subliminals, which are the two key factors here I suspect. He had his beginings in magic, which he still uses a lot in his material and also in hypnotism which he no longer uses at all, although he does utilixze the knowledge he gained of leading and comppliance that he picked up from his stidies of hypnotism. It's all in his book.

Derren uses many celebrity guests in his show. Obviously you don't watch many of them! In the UK, he certainly wouldn't get away with using Simon Pegg as a "member of the public" :)

THIS IS 100% NLP. listen closely to what derren says. he first sets anchors every time the answer's affirmative. then, when he shakes the man's hand, he does a "handshake induction." during the waking hypnosis derren embed commands throughout like "handle...bar"-none, re "cycle", "bike"creating, "bm..x"box & derren fires the anchors at each embedded command. no tricks! straightup NLP nothing more and totally genius. props to derren

He intrerupted the hand shake , and than gives suggestions (NLP style marking words letters,adding words , he can't give direct suggestions because he is in a very light level of trance using that pattern and his concious is very ACTIVE )
