Lamar Odom and Paul Gasol aren't good players? Granted they aren't superstars like D-Wade, but Kobe had some good players around him.
Shaq is one of the most dominant centers of all time and he's always had players around him (Penny in Orlando) (Kobe in LA) ) (Wade in Miami) and if he didn't have those players, he'd get the ball more and his PPG would go up even higher. Shaq >>>>

It takes more than titles, dragmaster. Titles are a team concept...Lakers figured that out the hard way once again. Just type in "NBA TV breakdown of the Jordan vs Kobe comparison", and click on the link, and you'll along with everyone else, will see just what Kobe needs to do to match MJ.
Kobe need more rings and he needs to be Finals MVP in those years to proove that he's not riding the coat-tails of somebody like he did when Shaq was around. Jordan never lost nor choked in an NBA final.

It is tough to not compare him to MJ even when he says he is his own player. I mean that nostalgic feeling of thinking this guy was unstoppable was what I felt about MJ. Media never made MJ look like a god, the way he dominated games did. During the season and the 3 rounds of the play offs, Kobe looked so unblockable. He could have averaged 40 points if Phil Jackson kept him in the end of games that was already won. Seeing Celtics defend him... IDK if he was choking or the D was good...

In my opinion, it was both. Of course his PPG would have gone up had Phil left him in games, same could be said for anybody who sits out with a huge lead.

Ahhh, but Shaq had just as many NBA MVP's as Kobe did with the Lakers and those 3 Finals MVP's. So one could make a serious case that Shaq was better than Kobe when they both were in a Laker uniform.
He passing Shaq in terms of producivity, but that's because Bryant is in his prime and Shaq's nearing the end of his career.

Definetly nostalgic, and everyone is looking for the next MJ. Kobe was the only one they could and this is definetly not fair to Kobe, who has said, he's Kobe, and Mike's Mike. He wishes he could be like Mike and try and imitate all of Mike's moves (and who wouldn't want to do that)
If there ever is another Mike, it will be coming from someone you've never expect it to be.

Magic got his Finals MVP in 87 and overall he has 2 more than Worthy. And their isn't that much else to compare when it comes to pure stats.
One thing I can compare about between Worthy and Mike is that both seem to save their best games for the playoffs and then the Finals.
