Ok, before I get my head torn off, I have to mention why you didn't see certain names on either list.
Nas - is one of the greatest rappers ever, in my top 25, but his albums have rarely reflected what I know he can really do!
JayZ - TOTALLY OVERRATED! His image is hypnosis b/c his music speaks to a small percentage of people. He actually attempts to convince that hustlin is necessary, it isn't
TUPAC - is more than a rapper; had he lived, he'd be the Malcolm of our day, far beyond music.

I can feel that (except souljah boy is whack like corn flakes and warm water). I guess I just can't relate. Since college days, I've discovered that a lot of what's packaged as "Black Music" or "Black media" hasn't appealed to me overall. As far as "hustlin", I was raised by real hustlas: worked jobs they hated to make legal dollars. There's nothing more hardcore than that. Furthermore, the street life image is selling the kids short, making them think that school & work is for suckers.
