Would be an excellent game. I know each country gets fired up when they play each other. I would say that the US vs Can whether it be junior or professional is a bigger rivalry now than it is with Rus vs Can.

The US team was LOADED that year with future NHL stars. Brooks couldn't even beat the islanders (including Morrow) with the rangers in 1982.
Lots of guys were deferring their pro careers to play on this team, they were at home, and in a late round against an overconfident opponent. Hardly a "miracle," but great to watch them kick some commie butt!

What so many people don't remember is that this wasn't the gold medal game. This was only a semifinal. The US had to later play and beat Sweden in the gold medal game.

I just got a 1980 USA Ken Morrow jersey on ebay for $60... thats a miracle in my book ...this video still chokes me up every time I watch it. Then my Islanders win the cup that year as well. Why was I born in '87?!?!
