The 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 is a muscle car, right? An American muscle car. So naturally, the first thing I want to do when I jump behind the wheel is a big American smoky burnout.

Dude the GT-R ... ( 2 weeks ago by wasp010)
Dude the GT-R doesn't deserve to be muttured in the same breath as the ACR. On a track that favors the GT-R, the ACR CRUSHED it by 5 almost 6 seconds! The Z06 will beat it 0-60 and in the quarter mile, as well as gas mileage. Don't know if you know this, but the LS7 was the first mass produced engine to EVER make over 500 bhp AND avoid the gas guzzlers tax at the same time. Thats American engineering for you. Whats Japan done lately? Yet another turbocharged AWD car?......WOW.
LMAO! The fastest ... ( 2 weeks ago by wasp010)
LMAO! The fastest supercar?! The Z06 wasn't even designed to beat the GT-R and it still can and the Viper will punish the GT-R. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, from a roll, from a dig, track, straights, it doesn't matter. If you got past the twin turbo badges, you'd figure out the GT-R doesn't even lay 400 awhp down. Pathetic for a 'supercar'. Whats Acura gonna do? 500 bhp at 16,000 rpm and 205 lbs-ft of torque at 10,500 rpm? Yikes. Sounds pretty scary. My warranty will expire before it gets into its powerband.

less gas, less ... ( 2 weeks ago by Tamayo1980)
less gas, less weight, better engineering, smarter technology and just and overall better car in the GT-R. The germans and the italian make better cars, and now the GT-R is leaving them all in its dust for a cheaper Price. Hay but i still love american muscle. My first car Ford Cortina, then a 89 nissan maxima, No i have 2007 Maxima, Acura MDX, and now waiting on My GT-R twin turbo 3.8 450hp
Sorry. Japanese ... ( 2 weeks ago by omcx1)
Sorry. Japanese engineering is no better. Neither is their technology. They just use a different approach to the same end. What you see as better engineering and technology many others see as un-necessary complication, over-stressing of the components resulting in reduced life and elevated maintenance costs, and questionable reliability.
Its a few years too ... ( 2 weeks ago by wasp010)
Its a few years too late, because the C6 Z06 crushed the German and Italian opposition for 1/3 of the price. If you're talking about weight, gas, engineering, and tech why are you bringing up the GT-R? Weighs more than a Mustang, has less power than an SRT-10, gets worse gas mileage than a Z06, etc. And the GT-R NEEDS .2 second shifts and launch control, otherwise its about as quick as a $40K C6.

I would simply wait ... ( 2 weeks ago by AnathemusVideos)
I would simply wait for the camaro than or actually buy the original like any other person would. I suppose if your just buying it for looks thats cool, but the terrible performance would just make the car more of a pain in the ass than anything else for me personally.
Terrible ... ( 2 weeks ago by omcx1)
Terrible performance? A car that out handles the lighter Mustang Bullitt and runs 13.02 with a 3.07 open rear and automatic? Get a clue. With the manual and 3.92 posi these cars will be WELL into the 12s and still handle amazingly well.

Thats just complete and utter bullshit.Questionable reliability and Japanese engineering can barely even fit in a sentence together. You must be joking. Lol..bury your head in the sand till the cows come home. I know what i see, sir. The Trade Mags and the Blue Books don't lie...the Japs have it down cold, and you're the only fool on earth who doesn't see it. Whatever. Remain oblivious if you choose.

The only one with his head in the sand (or somewhere worse) is you. I spent years in the car business and one of my main responsibilities was compiling technical information including recall info, frequency-of-repair info, and known vehicle problem info for all of the major manufacturers. Do some freaking research.
In 2006, Toyota ... ( 1 week ago by omcx1)
In 2006, Toyota became the first manufacturer in history to recall more cars than they actually sold. Honda, Toyota, and Nissan have all been plagued with increasing reliability issues and hundreds of thousands of recalls every year. I didn't rely on freaking magazines, I used official sources from the government to the manufacturers themselves. It isn't 1985 any more.

Yea, and with all of those reliability "problems," they're still FAR SUPERIOR to their American and German counterparts. Look, if you're a Jap hater, just say so. Hell, you wouldn't be the first bigot i've ever met. But damn, please stop fantasizing about Japanese "reliability" and "engineering" problems. The public is obviously not buying it.

I hate no one. I just value current facts over information that was obsolete 10 years ago. Why are your panties in such a bunch? Too immature to handle being wrong? So what, half the public thinks 9/11 was done by our own government.
