mroutofcontrol is right, when something breaks the sound barrier, the object is pushing the air out of the way because it doesn't have enough time to move and does something with the waves... check out a vid called sonic boom.

HI adam...i am a whip enthusiast and i made my own version of the indy on a budget whip using ducktape a 10 inch dowel rod and a nylon cracker it works nicely and your videos helped alot=)

hey adam i just have to say that indiana jones has also been an inspiration in getting me into whip cracking. my question is i recently purchased a 8 ft 12 plt bullwhip with i believe a 24 inch fall. its stiff and i'm trying to break it in by trying to crack it but its not working. i can crack a nylon whip pretty good. i was told to run a 2X4 piece of wood over the thong. is that something that really needs to be done? thank you and great videos you are a true genius
