Oh i love this guy, and although i like reading, with david, i buy the books on cd or tape. something about his voice hypnotizes me. i cant stop listening. very intoxicating.

why not? If we can take the pis out of everyone except minority groups is that not inappropriate in itself? When you consider most minority groups want to be treated "equally" not "equally" with bonuses, that in itself is a paradox

David and Amy are so awesome. I wish I was related to them so I could have gotten the awesome gene. I don't see why people can't move on if they don't find it funny ... there's a scroll bar. Use it.

Barry and Sedaris are both funny. Personally, I don't need to identify with the comedian in terms of race, sex, sexual orientation, etc. to laugh at their jokes.
The idea is as stupid in its view of homosexuals as it is in its view of heterosexuals. I'm not gay, and I don't like football either--and, finally, I can still laugh at a joke involving football told by a person who apparently enjoys the sport.

Nobody cares what you think. It's fence-sitters like you that simply can't make a decision in life, causing all sorts of grief for other people. Go pour yourself another cup of "why can't we all just get along." Sedaris just makes stuff up and foists it upon the public, like Fulghum. He doesn't even live in the US anymore, so he's hardly got the pulse of everyday life.

Nothing you've said makes any sense. Habrapoesia isn't fence sitting by not concerning his/herself with Sedaris' sexuality. Actually, NOT caring takes less energy and commitment than it does to judge someone about something as arbitrary as sexual orientation. Whether or not Sedaris lives in the US, or makes up his stories has no relation to how funny he is, or how good his story telling is. You should re-evaluate you reasoning methods. Also (while I'm at it) why can't we all just get along?
