That is precisly what the people who made this video wanted you to think. UFO has entered the popular lexicon as meaning just what you said, when in fact it is a technical term. Mr. Aldrin, a retired colonel of the U.S. Air Force, would surely have used it in the technical sense. Glad I could help.

Could easily have been Soviet technology. Even now, they aren't exactly likely to step up and admit to spying on the Apollo program, are they? Especially since they got spotted. Regardless, everyone who points to UFO being a technical term is right - NASA couldn't figure out what it was, so it was definitely a UFO.
