lordcOnty, you need to brush up on your pink floyd knowledge dude. Richard Wright was fired during the recording of The Wall for his lack of contribution. he said himself he had had a lack of ambition. waters may have been a "prick" but he conceived and wrote "darkside" he concieved and wrote "the wall". the fact that he wanted conceptual control, is not completely wrong. you are right when you say that they were all great together, but what did the others do without him?

Why is waters a prick i know he did act like one sometimes but remember waters was the driving force after syd left and he is the reason pink floyd made it through a very hard time plus most of floyds best work was waters idea like the wall, animals, and most of dark side.

ok you guys just think about it right one man can write songs and albums and get a band to play them but not waters he came up with lyrics and a basis then the whole band have to work together thats how studios work if its all one man then they are either genius or cocky i say waters is both and wright left once the wall was finished otherwise how did he get credit for some of the writing and still be allowed to play the tracks, a band has to work together thats why it went wrong when he left

Yer i no they worked great together as a band just look at dark side and wish you were here but if roger wasn't there would not have been any. They did need him But momentary lape of reason and division bell were still very very good. Gilmour best guitar player ever.

Every album by Floyd was great, even Aton Heart Mother. The 3 great eras of Floyd I find and each is sheer genius, had great lyrics, and some of the greatest music ever. Everything that band did, whether it was Waters leading, Gilmour, or Syd, it was always brilliant beyond any word.

One of the things I always enjoied about Floyd was even thier lives shows where great. I think part of the reason they broke up was that when you have that much creative energy together thatsome times it gets out of control and the people are unable to hadle it or get tried of trying to get it back under control or at the least directed again

My favorite Floyd song, but it loses so much edge live compared to the studio version. Whatever live version I listen to its "Run Like Hell-Light" instead of driving like the recording. All of that said, I love to see the guys playing it and especially in "The Wall" concerts which I craved to see for years. Rick-you are missed.
