The record Shania holds is the best selling album of a female artist ever. Her album "come on over" sold more copies than any other album by a female artist in history. It's one of the highest selling albums ever(top 10) and is the best selling country music album ever.
I don't think she has the record for overall sales though. Madonna released way more albums and songs compared to Shania. No.1 is indeed Madonna, followed by Mariah Carey, Celine, and Whitney. Shania is top 10 though.
