I like to think of it something like being left-handed. When I see this story I see myself. I don't have extreme difficulty like some Aspies. I did not understand that people have emotions until my mid 30's. I eventually realized that my girlfriend at the time really did have emotions and it wasn't an act. When I was a kid, I knew that I was different, but I thought of it as the other kids being different (if that makes sense).
